Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder has said the players need to be "a lot, lot sharper" as they try to keep their Euro 2016 dream alive against Turkey on Sunday. Sneijder and his colleagues saw their hopes suffer a major setback when they were beaten 1-0 at home by Group A leaders Iceland on Thursday. Another defeat in Turkey would make even the chances of a playoff place for Danny Blind's team appear remote. And Galatasaray star Sniejder told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf: "We are now further away from the European Championship in France, that is clear. "It is something [a situation] we have created ourselves. We must now stop Turkey taking the first step towards the playoffs, but it will be a hard match. "The risks created by the kind of mistakes we made against Iceland will be much greater in Konya. "The players and fans will do everything to make our lives difficult. We have to be a lot, lot sharper than we were on Thursday." Sneijder criticised Netherlands defender Bruno Martins Indi, who was sent off before half-time after tangling with Kolbeinn Sigthorsson -- a decision that changed the pattern of the game. Martins Indi is now suspended for the Turkey game, and Sneijder said: "Until the red card, nothing was happening. "That changed the whole game, and that cannot happen. I think we should be angry with Bruno Martins Indi. "The stakes are so high, and such mistakes can be fatal. I think he knows that." The Iceland result means the Dutch are six points adrift of the top two spots in Group A with just three games to play. The top two teams in each group qualify for next summer's finals in France, while the third-place team in eight of the nine groups must endure a two-legged playoff in November. And after the third defeat of Netherlands' campaign, Blind said: "The reality is clear: We have to go for third place."
