Arjen Robben hopes to 'set things right' in return to Netherlands squad

Netherlands winger Arjen Robben says he's ready to "set things right" in his return to the Dutch squad this week.

Robben missed the last round of Euro 2016 qualifiers with an ankle injury and watched his teammates lose 2-1 to the Czech Republic.

That defeat came on the heels of another defeat in a friendly in Italy, and Robben said he hopes to turn the side's fortunes around as the Netherlands prepare to face Kazakhstan in Amsterdam on Friday and Iceland in Reykjavik on Monday.

"I'm glad to be back and want to set things right," Robben said on his first day back with the national team since the World Cup in Brazil.

"I was very cranky watching us lose in the last minute to the Czechs, I was sitting on the sofa like a supporter at home and could not believe how we gave it away, losing to such a clumsy goal. I was swearing so loudly my wife had to chide me. 'The kids are sleeping,' she said."

Robben also said there is no room for error in the coming week as the Dutch look to make up ground in Group A.

"We have already fallen behind so we must simply win twice," he told reporters.
