Raul Albiol: Napoli can't think about catching Juventus atop table

Raul Albiol insists Napoli must shut rivals Juventus out of their minds after narrowing the gap on the Serie A leaders to just two points with a 1-0 victory over Genoa on Sunday.

Albiol marked his 200th appearance for the club by netting his first goal in over two years which could yet prove crucial in an increasingly tight title race.

The pressure is now well and truly on the long-time leaders after they could only draw with lowly SPAL on Saturday.

But Albiol told his club's website: "We just need to think about ourselves. Our aim is to win the next nine games, without looking at the league table. It won't be easy but we'll do our absolute best.

"After the international break we'll have another crucial fixture with Sassuolo. They're fighting for survival and will need those points. We need to keep doing what we're doing -- imposing our game on the opposition and keeping this mindset.

"To keep up with Juve we need to give everything and always try to win. Game by game we'll try to stay at the top."

Albiol's late header caused major celebrations at the Stadio San Paolo and ended the stern resistance of their mid-table opponents, who had looked dangerous on the counter-attack.

Albiol added: "I'm glad I scored because it's given us a huge win. Every game is tough now - we're into the final stretch of the league campaign and we can't make any mistakes.

"We had to dig in to get these three points, because Genoa fought hard."
