Montreal Impact agree to terms with ex-Galaxy keeper Clement Diop

Clement Diop moves to Montreal from the LA Galaxy.

The Montreal Impact signed former LA Galaxy goalkeeper Clement Diop to a one-year deal on Tuesday.

Montreal had already secured Diop's rights in the waiver draft last month and the parties have now agreed personal terms, including options for three additional years.

"I am very pleased to be able to count on Clément for the next few seasons," Impact head coach Remi Garde said in a statement released by the club. "Despite receiving other offers, he made the choice to continue his development in Montreal. His MLS experience will be an asset as he integrates the team."

Diop, 24, started 15 MLS games for the Galaxy last season while splitting time with both Jon Kempin and Brian Rowe.

The Senegal international will join Evan Bush, who started 31 games for Montreal in 2017.

Montreal also announced that homegrown goalkeeper Jason Beaulieu had signed a first-team deal after impressing at the University of New Mexico.
