Mexico's Juan Carlos Osorio confident injured trio will return vs. Scotland

LOS ANGELES - Mexico head coach Juan Carlos Osorio is confident that injured trio Andres Guardado, Diego Reyes and Hector Moreno will be available when El Tri takes on Scotland in Estadio Azteca on Saturday.

None of the three players -- all of whom could start in the World Cup -- were in the squad for Monday's 0-0 draw against Wales following injury problems.

"It's clear that there are three of four that haven't been here because they're recovering from injury, but I think that the next game will be an opportunity for them," Osorio said after the game in a news conference. "After the list of 23 [is made public], in the last game against Denmark (on June 9), we will get closer to the 11 to face Germany."

Giovani dos Santos is another player still under observation, even though he played 15 minutes for LA Galaxy on Friday against San Jose Earthquakes and 20 for Mexico against Wales.

"With Giovani we are very much keeping track of how he is athletically," said Osorio. "That's why we went to see him play a few days ago against San Jose."

There haven't been regular updates from the Mexican federation about the state of the injured players, but there have been no reports that key player Moreno, or Guardado and Reyes, have suffered any setbacks..
