Mexico announces World Cup friendly vs. Wales in Rose Bowl

Mexico will face Wales in the Rose Bowl on May 28 as part of El Tri's preparation for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The game against Wales will be Mexico's first of three friendlies to prepare for the World Cup, with a match in Estadio Azteca on June 2 against Scotland and a final game against Denmark in Copenhagen on June 9 completing the series, before El Tri heads to Russia to face Germany in its Group F opener on June 17.

There will be four days of events in the build-up to the game, including a media day and an opening training session on May 27.

The friendly against Wales -- who didn't qualify for the World Cup -- falls on a FIFA date, meaning the Europe-based players from El Tri should be available.

The Mexico national team also announced that it will start to use English-language social media on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Mexico plays Iceland in Santa Clara, California on March 23 and Croatia in Dallas on March 27 in the final friendlies before World Cup camp begins in May.
