'Chicharito' could follow Gignac, turn to hypnotist amid long goal drought

Mexico international Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez could turn to famous hypnotist John Milton in an effort to end his scoring drought, which extends back to Oct. 1 for club and country -- 1,249 minutes excluding extra time.

In an interview with ESPN's Raza Deportiva, Milton said: "[Hernandez] is one of the best goal scorers in the history of the Mexico national team. Right now he is in a rut -- a scoring drought and definitely some type of trauma that is not letting him do what we know he does well.

"Hypnosis does not work miracles; what it does is focus him and clean out garbage so that he can do what we know he does well."

France international Andre-Pierre Gignac recently turned to Milton amid an 862-minute drought and the hypnosis seemed to work wonders; not only did Gignac score his first goal since Sept. 17, he finished with a hat trick in the Liga MX quarterfinals second leg against Pumas on Nov. 26.

Speaking of any potential meeting with 28-year-old Guadalajara native Hernandez, Milton said that he would not be able to dish out specifics for confidentiality reasons.

"If contact is made or any kind of interview with him is done, I cannot talk about it," he said. "If [we end up doing a therapy session], I am in the best disposition to help whoever I want -- to improve any psychological, psychosomatic or emotional problems.

"With pleasure, if [Chicharito] looks for me, I'll get on the boat," he added.
