Liga MX sets Clausura semifinals dates, times

The top four seeds in the regular season all advanced from the quarterfinals of the Liga MX Clausura playoff quarterfinals, making for two interesting semifinal series.

Club America will host regular season leader Monterrey in Estadio Azteca on Wednesday (9:30 p.m. ET), with the return and defining leg on Saturday at Estadio BBVA Bancomer (9:30 p.m. ET).

In the second semifinal, Leon faces Pachuca in Estadio Leon on Thursday (9 p.m. ET) and travels to Estadio Hidalgo on Sunday (9 p.m. ET) for the return leg.

Monterrey overcame local rivals Tigres in the quarterfinal last week, while Club America earned victory over Chivas in Mexico's Clasico Nacional to make the semifinals for the third time in four seasons.

Despite that, ESPN's Soccer Power Index (SPI) has Pachuca as slight favorite to win the title (28 percent), with Monterrey second (27 percent), followed by Club America (26 percent) and Leon (19 percent).

There is also U.S. national team interest in the Liga MX semis, with Edgar Castillo playing for Monterrey, Ventura Alvarado featuring for Club America, William Yarbrough the starting goalkeeper for Leon and Omar Gonzalez a regular for Pachuca.
