United States' home Olympic playoff to be played in Frisco, Texas

FC Dallas' Toyota Stadium will host the United States under-23 national team's decisive Olympic qualifying match against Colombia on March 29, U.S. Soccer announced on Tuesday.

The game, the second of a home-and-home, two-legged aggregate series, will be broadcast on ESPN2 immediately following the U.S. senior squad's World Cup qualifier against Guatemala in Columbus, Ohio.

The winner of the U23 series will claim a spot in this summer's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The first leg will be played in Colombia, likely on March 25 or 26, in a city and venue to be announced.

The senior U.S. team plays its third qualifier of 2018 World Cup cycle on March 25 at Estadio Mateo Flores in Guatemala City.

The under-23s had a chance to advance directly to Rio in October, but lost 2-0 to Honduras in Sandy, Utah, in the semifinals of CONCACAF's Olympic Qualifying tournament. Mexico advanced along with Hondurans after beating Canada in the other semifinal.

The U.S. beat Canada in the CONCACAF third-place match, setting up the inter-continental playoff with Colombia, the 2015 South American Youth Football Championship runner-up.

Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, has a capacity of 20,500 and opened in 2005.
