Manchester United have time to get back into top four - Jesse Lingard

MANCHESTER, England -- Jesse Lingard says there is plenty of time for Manchester United to claw their way back into the top four.

Lingard's first goal of the season earned United a 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Old Trafford on Wednesday but still left Jose Mourinho's side eighth in the table and eight points adrift of the Champions League spots.

"It's a long way to go in the season, so for us it's about taking every game as it comes and trying to get the three points, that's the main thing," said the England forward.

"Especially this month there's a lot of games, so we need everyone in the squad to be fully fit. Obviously, there will be a lot of rotation but everyone is there to play and show 100 percent in each game."

A point against Arsenal left United without a win in four Premier League games ahead of Fulham's visit to Old Trafford on Saturday.

Only Arsenal in 2012-13 and 2014-15 have recovered from a worse start to still end the season in the top four. But Lingard insists there is still confidence in the dressing room.

"I think we believe as a squad," he said.

"We're in it as a team. We had to put on a performance [against Arsenal] for the fans and show the passion on the pitch for them.

"There's always pressure on people's shoulders when it comes to Man United and it's how you deal with the pressure.

"And as footballers, we just enjoy our football and want to win games. That's the main thing."
