BERN, Switzerland -- Manchester United have been forced to change the way they play in order to battle back from a poor start to the season, according to manager Jose Mourinho. United have won back-to-back Premier League games against Burnley and Watford following consecutive defeats to Brighton and Tottenham. Mourinho is hoping to make it three in a row when they kick off their Champions League campaign against Young Boys in Switzerland on Wednesday and revealed key alterations have been behind the turnaround in form. "I think we are improving," Mourinho told a news conference at the Stade de Suisse on Tuesday. "We found a certain balance in the team, especially in the competitive attitude, we are creating lots of chances, changing our profile of play, the way we attack opponents, and we find a way to protect ourselves in some specific situations. "We managed to get six points after two defeats which is important for us. We managed that in two difficult matches away and let's see in our third match if we can win all of them." United will face Young Boys on an artificial surface in Bern. The players trained on the pitch on Tuesday evening but there are concerns it will take them longer than usual to recover ahead of Wolves' visit to Old Trafford on Saturday. Mourinho hinted he is set to make changes to his team to face the Swiss champions in a bid to keep players fresh for Premier League duty this weekend. "I just want to remind you, in advance, that we can only start with eleven [players] so when you see the team you could try to speak about the ones that are going to play and not the ones that are not going to play," he said. "Try to be a little bit happy with the ones that are playing and not to be greedy with the ones that are not playing." David De Gea is likely to start on Wednesday night and the Spaniard is hoping to end a disappointing run in the Champions League that has seen United reach just one quarterfinal in the last seven years. "We want to improve in the Champions League," De Gea said. "It's a special competition, a long time that Manchester United win this cup, so we are ready to do it. "We have a difficult group, starting with a difficult team. We want to start well, winning games and of course try to win this competition, but we know its always difficult to win."
