Luke Shaw set to feature for Manchester United vs. Swansea

LEIGH, England -- Luke Shaw is in line to feature for Manchester United against Swansea in the Carabao Cup after he was left out of the Under-23s' squad to play Liverpool on Monday night.

United head to the Liberty Stadium for their fourth round tie on Tuesday.

Shaw played 90 minutes in the reserves' last game, a 4-2 defeat to West Ham, but was omitted from the line up against Liverpool.

The 22-year-old has not played for the first team since a substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup third round against Championship side Burton Albion on Sept. 20.

Asked about his progress ahead of the trip to Huddersfield on Saturday, Jose Mourinho would only say the left-back is "working."

As well as Shaw, United were also without Scott McTominay, Axel Tuanzebe and goalkeeper Joel Pereira to suggest they could also be part of the squad for the trip to south Wales.

Ricky Sbragia's side, who had James Wilson starting up front, lost 3-1 to Liverpool at Leigh Sports Village to remain bottom of Premier League Two Division One.

Ovie Ejazia, Marko Grujic and Harry Wilson scored for top-of-the-table Liverpool, who included Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jon Flanagan, Ben Woodburn and Danny Ings in their XI, while Wilson was on the scoresheet for United.
