Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants Manchester United to be 'the boss of the city'

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to be "the boss of the city" after the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Wednesday -- and has joked that he can convert City supporters into United fans.

Ibrahimovic made an impressive start to the season with five goals in five appearances but he has not been as prolific since then. The Swede's only goal in the eight appearances which have followed was against Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League -- but his confidence remains high.

He told United Review: "It's a rival game between two teams from the same city; one is light blue, one is red. You always want to be the boss of the city, of course.

"I have big experience for these kinds of games. I've played all over Europe in similar games -- the kind of games, let's say, where the heat is. I came out as a winner many times in these moments so let's hope this is another moment I can come out as a winner."

Asked if he had bumped into City fans around Manchester, he joked: "I've met a lot but they became United supporters when they met me."

United are in need of a positive response after being thrashed 4-0 at Chelsea on Sunday, which continued a disappointing winless run of results against leading clubs.

Earlier in the season, United had also lost 2-1 against Manchester City and drawn 0-0 against Liverpool in the league.

Reflecting on the Chelsea defeat, Ibrahimovic said: "We cannot go back and change the result, absolutely not, but we can make a difference in the upcoming game.

"We didn't do good in the last game because we lost, obviously, but let's change that for this game and win the game and go further in the cup. That's what we want. We believe in ourselves and believe in what we are doing. That's the main thing."
