Wayne Rooney not in Manchester United squad vs. Chelsea

Wayne Rooney is not in the Manchester United squad for the game at Chelsea on Sunday after he picked up a muscle injury in training.

Manager Jose Mourinho told Sky Sports before the game: "He was injured in the last training session. He was feeling it against Fenerbahce but he was so keen to play for 90 minutes that he hid it."

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford start in the attacking positions for United, with Paul Pogba in behind, while Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Ashley Young are on the bench.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have no place for captain John Terry, who is fit again but on the bench, and Marcos Alonso starts.

Pedro, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa are the Chelsea front three, with Willian on the bench having come back after the death of his mother.
