Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Manchester United must 'step it up' to reach potential

Zlatan Ibrahimovic said Manchester United could do much more and expects them to "step it up" following their 1-0 Europa League win against Zorya Luhansk on Thursday.

Ibrahimovic scored the only goal of the game against the Ukrainian side but insisted taking three points was the most important thing in order to build confidence.

He told BT Sport: "I think we could do much more. I -- how do you say? -- accept [expect] much more from the team but we're working hard and against Leicester we did a good game, today we did a good game.

"We didn't score [as many] as we did against Leicester but we won and this is good for the confidence.

"If we continue like this and step it up a little bit more then we will do good."

Of United's creativity in front of goal, Ibrahimovic added: "We play as a team, we create as a team and we are trying.

"Sometimes you create a lot, sometimes you create less but the important thing is that you create chances. Then when the chance is coming you need to be focused and try to score."

Ibrahimovic has now scored six goals for United this season, but Michael Owen said the veteran striker could do more.

"His movement disappoints me a bit," Owen told BT Sport. "He just stands a lot. Because of his height he gets away with it.

"There was no movement from him. He just tends to stand at the back post and wait for the ball. There were a few crosses tonight and he stayed in the same position."
