Manchester road named after club legend Nobby Stiles

Former Manchester United midfielder Nobby Stiles had a road named in his honour on Friday afternoon, situated close to where he was born.

"Nobby Stiles Drive" was unveiled in Collyhurst, Manchester, and former colleagues including Sir Bobby Charlton and Denis Law were present for the ceremony.

The event was also close to the heart of former United player Brian Kidd, as he is also from Collyhurst and he was in attendance.

Stiles, 73, was a World Cup winner with England 50 years ago in 1966 and played for United between 1960 and 1971. The former midfielder, who was part of United's European Cup-winning team in 1968, has been battling Alzheimer's Disease.
