Ronaldo: Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford reminds me of myself

Former Brazil star Ronaldo says Marcus Rashford "has an amazing future" ahead and has confessed he sees some of himself in the young Manchester United striker.

Rashford, who was recently named United's U18 player of the season, has burst onto the scene this term, scoring seven goals in 15 games for the Premier League giants since receiving his debut earlier this year.

The former academy product, 18, has received high praise from teammates and opponents alike for his match-winning displays, and can now count the former World Cup-winning forward among his many admirers.

Ronaldo, who scored 34 goals in 37 La Liga games for Barcelona as a 20-year-old in 1996, says the Manchester-born striker has a bright future ahead.

"He's a very good young player," Ronaldo told The Sun on Thursday.

"I see some of myself in him for sure -- he has courage and he's fast and is very good with the ball.

"I think for the strikers they have to be hungry to score and I see that with him. He has an amazing future."
