Man United fans appeal to neutrals for FA Cup final tickets

Manchester United supporters are urging neutrals to hand over their FA Cup final ticket allocation so that Old Trafford season ticket holders can attend the match.

United face Crystal Palace in the final at Wembley on May 21, but around half of their season ticket holders are set to miss out on attending the game because the club's allocation is just over 28,000.

United's ballot for tickets closed on Monday and fans were informed that only season ticket holders who have attended all 10 home cup games this season would be successful.

Supporters have continued to seek out tickets from elsewhere with one fan group, Stretford End Flags, having made an appeal on Twitter.

The tweets read: "As the FA Cup final ticket allocation meant that over half of United season ticket holders missed out, we are calling on FA member clubs, all county FAs and anyone with neutral tickets to hand over their allocation to United so that season ticket holders can attend the final.

"There will be 34,000 neutral tickets at Wembley for the final, while over 30,000 United season ticket holders will miss out."

Andrew Kilduff from Stretford End Flags told the Manchester Evening News: "You can't really blame the club. The allocation is that small there were always going to be people disappointed, but what really sticks in the throat is that there will be more neutral fans there than fans of either of the clubs.

"Every club who enters gets some, from Runcorn to Crewe, to Altrincham to City and Liverpool, but they don't have to take them, they can say no and ask they go to actual fans of the clubs and we are urging them to do so.

"I would hope United would do the same."

The number of neutral tickets is due to Club Wembley allocations and seats given to people working across grassroots football to recognise their commitment to the game.
