Man United's Wayne Rooney: Disappointing not to defeat Leicester

Wayne Rooney says Manchester United were "disappointed" with the 1-1 draw against Leicester, having felt they had done enough to win the game.

United took an early lead through Anthony Martial, only for Leicester to soon cancel that out through Wes Morgan, with neither side able to find a winner in the second half.

Rooney, playing in midfield for the Red Devils, believes his side could have got more from the game and says the result has damaged their chances of a top-four finish.

United are four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City but have a game in hand over their rivals.

"We're disappointed. I think we were the better team, we played with good tempo," Rooney is quoted as saying by FourFourTwo. "After they scored we were a little bit off it, but we came out in the second half and I felt we dominated those 45 minutes.

"I feel I'm playing OK in midfield and I'm enjoying it. It's going to be tough to get in the top four now. We felt before this game we had to take maximum points from our remaining games."
