Man United midfielder Ander Herrera rejects talk he wants to leave club

Ander Herrera has rebutted reports he is unsettled at Manchester United by declaring he is happy to stay at Old Trafford.

Reports suggested the former Athletic Bilbao player wanted showdown talks with Louis van Gaal and was worried about his future.

But the midfielder tweeted: "Interview given last week. Very happy at Manchester United."

Herrera had told United Review: "What I am doing at United, I enjoy a lot so I don't want this dream to finish. I have to play as well as possible if I want to play as long as I can at this club."

The Spaniard, who cost £28.8 million when he joined United in 2014, was a player first identified by Van Gaal's predecessor David Moyes and his omission from the team has disappointed fans.

Herrera endured a three-month spell last season when he only started two games and has begun just six of United's first 14 Premier League matches in this campaign.

Supporters chanted the 26-year-old's name during the 1-0 Champions League win over CSKA Moscow, when he was on the bench, sending a message toward Van Gaal.

But Herrera has begun United's last two games for which he has been fit and has reiterated that he wants to stay at the club.
