Ander Herrera says Manchester United UCL title talk premature

Ander Herrera believes it is too early to talk up Manchester United's hopes of winning the Champions League.

United eased into the group stages of Europe's elite competition with a comfortable 7-1 aggregate victory against Club Brugge and have been handed what appears to be a reasonably good draw in the next phase of the competition, with games against PSV Eindhoven, CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg offering Louis van Gaal's side a chance to progress to the knockout stages.

Herrera, 26, made a positive impact as he made a scoring to the United starting line-up in the second leg against Brugge on Wednesday and the Spaniard has claimed that United are starting to climb back towards their natural position in European football after a year without Champions League action at Old Trafford.

"We have taken Manchester United to where they deserve to be," Herrera told reporters.

"We have to go step by step so it is too early to talk about winning this [Champions League], but of course, we are representing one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"The history of the club says we have to fight for all the trophies and that is what we intend to do this season."
