Marouane Fellaini backs Andreas Pereira for Manchester United success

Marouane Fellaini has described Manchester United teammate Andreas Pereira as "a big talent."

Pereira was linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer but signed a new contract at United in May and has been tipped to make a big impression at Old Trafford.

"Andreas is a big talent," Fellaini told United Review, in quotes reported by the Daily Mail. "I think the club did everything to sign him up to a contract because a lot of teams wanted him.

"He has to continue like that, to work hard and to keep going and try to win his place."

Pereira, who scored in Brazil's Under-20 World Cup final defeat to Serbia after coming off the bench, was named United's Under-21 Player of the Year for the 2014-15 season last month.

Pereira told Inside United: "I think the season went really well for me. I'm really pleased with how everything was. We did well as a team too and that's the most important thing."

Pereira, who made two substitute appearances for the first team last season, said he is now aiming to break into Louis van Gaal's squad and added: "After that, I have to work hard to get into the first team and, following that, we will see. "

He said his idol was Kaka and that, while he can play on the wing or in midfield, it is "just a case of wherever the manager asks me to play, I'll play."

Asked what it means to him to play for United, he said: "It means a lot. I'm very proud to be a Manchester United player. I always dreamed about it. Now I am happy I can live my dream."
