Manchester United to face Barcelona and PSG in tour of the United States

Manchester United have announced they will face Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in a four-game tour of the United States in July.

The 20-times champions of England will play in Seattle, California and Chicago as part of their preparations for the 2015-16 season.

United are defending the International Champions Cup, a tournament they won last summer.

They kick off in the United States against Mexican side Club America at Seattle's CenturyLink Field on July 17.

Louis van Gaal's side then go to California to play MLS team San Jose Earthquakes on July 21.

They stay in central California to take on Barcelona, their opponents in the 2009 and 2011 Champions League finals, on July 25 at the Levi Stadium in Santa Clara.

And they conclude their tour at Chicago's NFL stadium, Soldier Field, where they take on French champions Paris Saint-Germain on July 29.

United managing director Richard Arnold said: "Manchester United has a great history of visiting these US cities, creating memorable experiences for players and fans that date back as far as the 1950s. Tour 2015 will allow the team to train at some of the best facilities in the world and play in front of thousands of passionate U.S. supporters at first-class stadiums.

"After this month's Manchester derby broke records to become the most-watched Premier League match is US cable television history, the club is excited to be returning to the United States at a time when the appetite for football is greater than ever."
