Ander Herrera: There will never be another Paul Scholes

There will never be another player like Paul Scholes in football, according to Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera.

Herrera, 25, has been likened to the former England international, who scored 107 goals in 499 games for United during his time at the club which spanned three decades from 1991 to 2013.

And the Spaniard has enjoyed a fine start to life at Old Trafford, having netted seven goals in 26 appearances since arriving for £28.8 million from Athletic Bilbao in the summer.

But when asked in a United Facebook Q&A if he thought he played like Scholes, he replied: "There will never be another Scholes. He was a one off."

The midfielder also insisted his greatest strength was the fact that he leaves everything on the pitch.

"I always play passionately -- for the team and our supporters," he wrote. "I am emotional. Every win and every victory makes me happy but maybe I hope the most emotional moments are coming. I am sure of that, in fact, because I am at United."
