Colombia coach Jose Pekerman is confident that Radamel Falcao will rediscover his best form at Manchester United.
Falcao, 28, has endured an injury-hit 2014 and will miss his country's friendly against the U.S. on Friday with a calf problem.
The forward -- on loan at United from Monaco for the 2014-15 campaign -- suffered a cruciate knee injury in January, forcing him to sit out the World Cup, in which Colombia reached the quarterfinals.
He has missed United's last three games, is yet to complete 90 minutes for them and has only scored one goal in five appearances.
But Pekerman feels Falcao will show the form that brought him 155 goals in 200 games for Porto, Atletico Madrid and Monaco.
"This is a new stage for him and for the [United] team, needing time to adapt to numerous signings, playing in a new competition," he said at a pregame news conference.
"Falcao is a top player. I'm optimistic he will overcome this stage and soon be at his level."
The 28-year-old revealed earlier this week that he had returned to training -- with teammate Andreas Pereira also tweeting a picture of the pair -- but United manager Louis van Gaal suggested it was unlikely that he would start United's next match at Arsenal on Nov. 22.
