LONDON -- Kevin De Bruyne is confident Manchester City can add more silverware this season after winning the Carabao Cup.
Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva got the goals as City comfortably beat Arsenal 3-0 at Wembley.
Along with Guardiola, many of City's young squad won silverware for the first time and De Bruyne believes it could be a big moment.
"I think it will help in the future, if we reach finals or important games, to be steady," the Belgium international told reporters. "I think the second half performance was absolutely wonderful from us. I think that showed the character and the way we need to play.
"I think our team is very young. Since I came in two years ago, it's a totally different team. The transfer strategy that City have got is amazing so they did really well.
"The second half is more like we played the whole season and maybe the beginning is a bit nervy, you want to see what's going to happen, you don't want to concede a goal. I think the second half performance was great."
It was De Bruyne's second League Cup winners' medal at City, however he missed the 2016 final against Liverpool through injury.
"It's nice to play in the final, but in the end, you win it, so that's the most important thing," he added. "If you get an injury, or a suspension, that's the way it goes in football. In the end I'm very happy to win it."
De Bruyne's international teammate Kompany knows all too well about missing matches through injuries after suffering with persistent muscle injuries in recent seasons.
Kompany has played in just 13 of City's 43 matches this season but was the man of the match.
"It's been tough [for him], he's had a lot of injuries," De Bruyne said. "To come here and have a great performance, to help the team, and even to score -- it will give hopefully a massive boost for him.
"Everybody knows what he can do for a team. The games he played this year was good, but it's the same with other players to be fair.
"Probably he keeps the team solid. I think, to be fair, everybody did what he needed to do in the end. Everybody was very disciplined, even when it was 3-0, until the final whistle, needed to do what they were doing. And we have to maintain that."
City will hope to add at least one more trophy to their collection with an opportunity to re-establish their 16-point lead at the top of the Premier League when they face the Gunners again on Thursday.
"It's the first [trophy] you can win, so it's nice to have this one. Now we have to go on on Thursday. So it's back to the competition, and a quick change," De Bruyne said. "I don't think it changes things. We've been focused from the first game until now. If you win, you feel good.
"The whole season you feel really well because obviously we won most of the games. Sometimes you lose, but then you have to get back up and show that you're ready for the next game. That's football."
