Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, Leroy Sane win monthly Prem awards

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for a second time in succession, with winger Leroy Sane scooping the Player of the Month award.

Guardiola picked up the October award after his side were the only top flight team to maintain a 100 percent record, scoring 13 goals in three victories.

City beat Stoke 7-2 and Burnley 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium before a 3-2 win at West Bromwich Albion as they opened up an eight-point gap at the top of the table.

They also won 2-1 against Napoli in the Champions League and beat Wolverhampton Wanderers in the League Cup on penalties to make it 16 wins and a draw from 17 games in all competitions.

Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach Guardiola won the award for September after four straight victories in the Premier League.

Sane, 21, earned his award after scoring and contributing an assist in each of City's three games.

A statement on City's official website said: "Everyone at City would like to congratulate Pep and Leroy on their well-deserved awards."
