Vincent Kompany makes his first Premier League start of the season for Manchester City against Southampton, while Sergio Aguero returns after being dropped against Barcelona.
Kompany, City's captain, returned from a groin problem with a brief substitute appearance against Everton last weekend but did not make the matchday squad for Wednesday's Champions League game at the Camp Nou.

Kompany's City career has been blighted by muscle injuries, the latest being a groin problem suffered at Swansea in the EFL Cup last month on his comeback from a previous layoff.
"I will use my experience to get through the day, I am excited. There are no easy games in the Premier League," he told the BBC.
"I have had no preseason but you have to start somewhere and I am confident. We have been playing well, we are just conceding with every mistake we make at the moment."
Kompany's return sees City play with three at the back, alongside John Stones and Aleksandar Kolarov.
