Johan Cruyff would support Man City if he was alive - Jordi Cruyff

Barcelona and Ajax legend Johan Cruyff would be a Manchester City fan if he was still alive, according to his son Jordi.

City are now managed by Pep Guardiola, who worked under the Netherlands great for eight years at Barca.

Guardiola described Cruyff, who died in March, as the "most influential person" in the history of football, and says he would not have gone onto manage Barca, Bayern Munich and City had it not been for the influence of the Dutchman.

Cruyff's son Jordi, who also played for Barca as well as Manchester United, believes his father would enjoy watching Guardiola's City side.

"He always had a big admiration for English football," he told reporters. "He loved that, so he really liked the opportunity when I was at United for four years. If he can still watch football, he's probably a big Manchester City fan."

Cruyff won four successive La Liga titles and a European Cup during his managerial reign at the Camp Nou when Barca were nicknamed the "Dream Team."
