Pep Guardiola to focus solely on football at Manchester City

New Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has vowed to focus solely on coaching at the Etihad, and will leave the business side of the job for others to handle.

Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini at Man City for next season after opting not to extend his three-year deal with Bayern Munich in February.

Guardiola has been a huge success at both Barcelona and Bayern, winning two Champions Leagues and six domestic league titles during his time at the two clubs.

The former Barcelona midfielder, however, has made some gaffes in the transfer market. He famously signed striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Inter Milan in exchange for Samuel Eto'o and more than €40 million -- a move that would see the Italian side oust Barca from the Champions League and win an historic Treble the following year.

But Guardiola has stressed his focus will be on the pitch while at City.

"I am a coach and a coach only," Guardiola at a news conference on Friday.

"And I will only be a coach at Manchester City next season as well."
