Man City's Jesus Navas out 3 weeks, Eliaquim Mangala suffers setback

MANCHESTER -- Jesus Navas is set to be out for a minimum of three weeks after suffering with a hamstring injury picked up in Tuesday night's 1-0 victory over Sunderland.

City suffered a further blow with the news that Eliaquim Mangala has been hit with a setback in his recovery after missing the last month, also with a hamstring injury.

Wilfried Bony will not be back in time for Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with Leicester City and nor will Vincent Kompany, although the City skipper has returned to full training after playing just nine minutes in the last three months.

Navas pulled up with a strain in the 76th minute of the victory over Sunderland as he raced back to help his defence and is now set for a spell on the sidelines.

Pellegrini told a news conference: "It's a muscle injury he has. It will be a minimum of three weeks."

With Kevin De Bruyne and Samir Nasri also ruled out for the next six weeks, Pellegrini's squad will be stretched as his side compete for silverware in four competitions.

City are three points behind Leicester at the top of Premier League and are in the final of the Capital One Cup.

They also have an FA Cup fifth-round tie with Chelsea to play in two weeks ahead of a Champions League round-of-16 clash with Dynamo Kiev, and Pellegrini has threatened to play a young side if the fixture stays on a Sunday for television coverage.
