David Silva, Vincent Kompany miss Man City training ahead of Juve tie

David Silva and Vincent Kompany could miss Manchester City's Champions League clash with Juventus after both were absent from full training on Tuesday.

Silva, 29, is likely to sit out a ninth consecutive game with the ankle injury he sustained while playing for Spain against Luxembourg last month.

Kompany, 29, who did train indoors at the Etihad Campus before City travelled to Italy, missed Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Liverpool with a calf problem and is also a major doubt for the Juve game on Wednesday.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini was given a further defensive worry as Eliaquim Mangala also had to train indoors -- rather than with his teammates -- meaning that Nicolas Otamendi and Martin Demichelis could be the only fit centre-backs at his disposal.

City will definitely be without the injured Samir Nasri and Wilfried Bony, while forward Kelechi Iheanacho is ineligible.

Pellegrini's side have already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League and would win their group if they take three points on Wednesday.
