Manchester City await tests on Samir Nasri groin injury

Manchester City will assess Samir Nasri's groin injury as they wait to discover if the midfielder's season is over.

Nasri lasted only 186 seconds as a substitute in the 1-0 victory at Tottenham on Sunday as, after coming on for Frank Lampard, he had to be replaced by Wilfried Bony.

Manuel Pellegrini's men have just three games left, with their final fixture coming against Southampton on May 24, and any significant absence would mean the end of his season.

The Frenchman has already missed 13 games this season with Achilles and calf injuries, and he has started only one of City's last nine matches.

If he is ruled out of Sunday's game at home to Queens Park Rangers, it could leave Pellegrini short of attacking midfielders, with Yaya Toure unlikely to recover from his hamstring injury in time and Jesus Navas having missed the Spurs game with a minor hamstring problem.

Meanwhile, Pellegrini has said Sergio Aguero's best days still lie ahead of him.

Aguero scores the only goal against Spurs to move two clear of Harry Kane in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, and the City boss said: "Sergio is a very important player for us and he's in a good moment, free of injury and able to play a number of games in succession without the setback of injury.

"He is only 26 years old and he will continue to improve and I think he's getting better and better."
