Mamelodi Sundowns' high-profile friendly against Barcelona has received the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) backing, even if the Spanish giants are yet to utter a word about it.

The Brazilians announced the game, to be played on May 16, subject to Premier Soccer League approval.

Given the nature of the game - celebrating former president Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday - the PSL gave the match the green light.

However, they still needed to persuade CAF to move their Champions League group stage fixture - against Guinean outfit Horoya - back by a week to May 22, which they have also now agreed to.

The only missing piece of the puzzle now is Barcelona, who have yet to make a mention of the game FNB Stadium on any of their official channels.
