Jimmy Kebe to have trial with Mallorca

Former Reading and Crystal Palace winger Jimmy Kebe is to have a trial with Mallorca, the Spanish club have announced.

Kebe, 31, is a free agent after his Palace contract was cancelled in January, and although he has passed a medical with Mallorca they are not yet ready to commit to a contract due to concerns over his fitness after a year out of action.

A club statement said: "Kebe has already passed his medical examinations but as he has not played in the last six months, the club wants to be sure of his physical condition before extending a contract offer."

Kebe moved to Palace in 2013 after making 175 league appearances for Reading during a five-year stint with the Royals.

Signed at Palace by Ian Holloway, he was sent out on loan to Leeds by Tony Pulis but endured a mixed spell, and his return to Palace was no more successful with his contract terminated after he failed to make the club's 25-man Barclays Premier League squad.
