Pep Guardiola will visit Malaysia when Man City win title - JDT

Malaysian champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) hope that Pep Guardiola will keep his promise to fly to see them, with Manchester City on course for the 2017-18 Premier League title.

Guardiola met JDT owner Tunku Ismail Idris (TMJ) in Oct. 2016 and the club claim that the former Barcelona boss vowed to pay them a visit if he made City champions of England.

City's stunning form in the past few months has seen them establish a commanding lead at the top of the league, just past the halfway point of the season.

Guardiola's men broke the record for consecutive victories in the Premier League when they defeated Manchester United at Old Trafford on Dec. 10.

They have now opened up a large gap over reigning champions Chelsea and Jose Mourinho's out-of-form United.

If City can keep up their impressive form for another few months, they will soon be celebrating their first title win since 2014 under Manuel Pellegrini.

And this could see Guardiola making the trip to Johor Bahru to share some of the secrets of his success.

"On 19th October 2016, HRH Crown Prince of Johor met Pep Guardiola during Manchester City's match against Barcelona in Spain," a statement on JDT's Facebook page said.

"During their brief meeting, Pep Guardiola made a promise to come to Johor to share ideas and visit the Johor Darul Ta'zim football project should Manchester City win the league."

Former Spain international midfielder Guardiola won the European Cup as a player with Barcelona in 1992 before twice making the club UEFA Champions League winners when he was head coach in 2009 and 2011.

Following four seasons as Barcelona boss, Guardiola led Bayern Munich to three successive Bundesliga titles before joining Manchester City in 2016.

Guardiola had a disappointing first season in England as his team ended the campaign in third spot in the Premier League, 15 points behind champions Chelsea.

But City are very much the team to beat this season as Guardiola has the team playing entertaining and winning football, inflicting heavy losses on several rivals, including a 4-1 victory over last season's runners-up Tottenham Hotspur.

It is this form that has JDT excited about the prospect of one of the greatest managers of all time paying them a visit.
