Seattle held on for a narrow 2-1 victory over their Western Conference foes RSL. (3:53)

Nicolas Lodeiro scored his first MLS goal, then assisted on Jordan Morris' team-leading eighth in the Seattle Sounders' 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake on Sunday.

The Sounders have won two straight and are 2-0-1 since parting ways with former coach Sigi Schmid on July 26.

Salt Lake has won just twice in its last 10 games.

Lodeiro, the Uruguayan international midfielder signed by Seattle as a Designated Player on July 27, scored in the 24th minute. Clint Dempsey lofted the ball toward the left wing. Andreas Ivanschitz took it into penalty area, crossed it toward the middle, and Lodeiro drilled it high into the left side of the net.

In the 37th minute, Dempsey sent a ball toward the left side, where Lodeiro caught up with it and floated a cross into the box. Morris ran onto a header that went in off the hands of goalkeeper Nick Rimando.

RSL's Joao Plata scored on an uncontested eight-yard shot in the 62nd minute after goalkeeper Stefan Frei bobbled the ball at the top of the box while preparing to kick it downfield.

Razvan Cocis scored from a set piece late in the second half to give the Chicago Fire a 2-2 draw with Orlando City.

Brandon Vincent put the ball out front after a quick pass on a corner kick and Cocis got his head on it with enough force that goalkeeper Joe Bendik couldn't keep it out of the net despite getting a hand on it. It was the third goal of the season for Cocis.

Prior to that goal in the 78th minute, Eastern Conference cellar dwellers Chicago was being dominated but that ignited the Fire and they had several strong chances in the closing minutes.

Chicago took a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute as John Gossens surprised Bendik with a long-range shot that deflected off the post.

Orlando got the equalizer in the ninth when Cyle Larin reached Kaka's short flip and guided it into the net for his 12th goal.

Orlando City, which is tied with D.C. United for the final qualifying spot in the East, gained the lead when Kaka cleaned up Larin's header off the post in the 32nd minute for his fourth goal.

Jozy Altidore scored his third goal in four games and Toronto FC played to a 1-1 tie with the 10-man Houston Dynamo in a game postponed Saturday because of rain.

Toronto had its four-game winning streak snapped. Houston is winless in six games.

Altidore tied it in the 24th minute. Sebastian Giovinco rolled a corner kick to the penalty spot and Altidore put it into the net with his first touch. Altidore's sliding left-footed shot in the 64th minute hit the post.

Cristian Maidana scored from a difficult angle in the eighth minute after Mauro Manotas chipped the defense. But the Dynamo played a man down for the entire second half. Abdoulie Mansally received a red card in first-half stoppage time for taking down Giovinco on a breakaway.

It was the fifth consecutive draw in the series. The last win for either team came in 2011.
