Roland Alberg had the second three-goal game in Philadelphia Union history as they beat the Chicago Fire 4-3 on Wednesday night.
Philadelphia snapped a seven-game winless streak in the series, which included three losses and four draws. Chicago had its MLS-record road winless streak extended to 32 games, dating back to July 2014.
The Union scored three times in the first half to tie a franchise record and Philadelphia was ahead 4-1 before Chicago scored in the 69th and 80th minutes.
Philadelphia tied it at 1-1 in the 11th minute on Jonathan Campbell's own goal. Alberg's shot went off the hand of goalkeeper Sean Johnson, hit the post and bounced off Campbell's knee into the net. Four minutes later, Philadelphia had another shot hit the post and Alberg sent the loose ball into the net.
Just before halftime, Alberg scored again on a rebound. His initial shot was blocked by Chicago defender Johan Kappelhof on the goal line, but the ball bounced back to Alberg for a successful second attempt. Alberg added a penalty kick goal in the 56th.
David Accam opened the scoring in the second minute for Chicago. He won a loose ball near midfield, outraced a defender down the sideline and calmly sent a shot under goalkeeper Andre Blake. Razvan Cocis and Khaly Thiam scored off of corner kicks in the second half.
Jordan Allen broke a tie in the 87th minute and Real Salt Lake beat New York 2-1 to end the Red Bulls' four-game winning streak.
Tony Beltran set up Allen with a low cross along the top of the 18-yard box, and Allen's right-footed shot deflected in off Red Bulls defender Chris Duvall.
Yura Movsisyan tied it for RSL in the 65th minute when he slipped behind the two central defenders on John Stertzer's long ball and finished with a header into the right corner of the goal.
The Red Bulls had shut out all four opponents during their winning streak and Movsisyan's goal ended a scoreless streak of 474 minutes.
Gideon Baah headed home Sean Davis' corner to open the scoring in the seventh minute for New York.
The Red Bulls' Aurelien Collin was sent off in the 90th minute for violent conduct.
Brian Rowe made crucial saves in both halves and the LA Galaxy held on for a scoreless draw with the MLS-leading Colorado Rapids.
Zac MacMath had three saves for Colorado, including two in the final 15 minutes for his sixth shutout of the season. The Rapids extended their overall MLS lead and ran their unbeaten streak to 11.
Rowe came off his line and made a kick save to stop Colorado's Marlon Hairston on a wide-open breakaway in the 31st minute.
In the 88th, he punched away Kevin Doyle's close-range attempt and finished with five saves for his third shutout of the season.
