MLS suspends Antonio Nocerino after Orlando City goal celebration

Orlando City midfielder Antonio Nocerino has been suspended for one game after celebrating a goal after he had been substituted on Sunday.

Nocerino was replaced by Servando Carrasco in the 90th minute with the game against New England level at 1-1, but moments later Kevin Molino scored for Orlando.

The Italian ran back onto the pitch and embraced Molino, and has now been suspended and fined for violating the league's "entering the field of play policy," the league announced.

New England found a late equalizer and the game finished 2-2, and Nocerino will now miss Orlando's game at the New York Red Bulls on Sunday.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee gave the same punishment to D.C. United manager Ben Olsen, who entered the field in the 80th minute to clear away a second ball during the 1-0 loss to Toronto FC.

Olsen will not be present for Saturday's game against New England.

The Disciplinary Committee also fined Portland's Diego Valeri for failing to leave the field after receiving a red card against San Jose on Saturday, while Earthquakes defender Andres Imperiale was also fined for "escalating the incident."

Colorado midfielder Marco Pappa was fined for making contact with the head of New York Red Bulls midfielder Mike Grella on Saturday.
