FC Dallas and Sporting Kansas City convene on a rainy Sunday to battle for Western Conference supremacy at Toyota Stadium. (3:54)

Lee Nguyen scored on a penalty kick in the 96th minute to earn the New England Revolution a 2-2 tie with Orlando City on Sunday.

Kevin Molino had put Orlando City in front in the 92nd minute with a low close-range blast that looked like he may have controlled with a handball.

Nguyen's goal was controversial too, as Orlando players argued the hand-ball that led to his penalty kick came off Servando Carrasco's shoulder.

Referee Baldomero Toledo also initially called the penalty outside the area and then changed the call after some discussion with his crew.

Kaka opened the scoring in the second minute with the fastest penalty kick in MLS history at 1:37. He converted after Orlando's Julio Baptista drew a foul 15 seconds into the match.

Teal Bunbury tied it in the 37th minute for the Revs.

Mauro Rosales broke a tie in the 68th minute and MLS-leading FC Dallas beat Sporting Kansas City 2-1..

Rosales entered as a substitute in the 63rd minute and made his first touch of the game five minutes later on a free kick that hooked over the wall into the left corner. It was his first goal since joining FC Dallas during the offseason.

Sporting KC remained fourth in the overall standings, tied with the Eastern Conference-leading Montreal Impact.

FC Dallas tied it in the 35th minute when Michael Barrios pounced on Kellyn Acosta's long ball and powered home a right-footed shot despite a deflection off goalkeeper Tim Melia's hands. It was Barrios' fourth goal in five games.

Sporting's Lawrence Olum opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a point-blank header to finish Benny Feilhaber's corner.
