Didier Drogba scores fifth MLS goal as Montreal beats Chicago; Houston win

MONTREAL -- Didier Drogba scored his fifth goal in four starts for Montreal and Andres Romero also scored to help the Impact beat the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Wednesday night.

The Impact improved to 3-0-2 since Mauro Biello replaced Frank Klopas as head coach. Montreal is sixth in the Eastern Conference, four points ahead of Orlando City for the final playoff spot.

David Accam scored for the last-place Fire (7-17-6) in their first game since Brian Bliss took over for the fired Frank Yallop. They have lost four in a row.

Drogba scored in the 39th minute, Accam tied it in the 50th, and Romero connected in the 76th.

Montreal went down a man for a third straight game after Laurent Ciman was shown his second yellow card of the game in the 90th minute. He will be suspended for a home game Saturday night against D.C. United, as will Romero, who got a yellow card for taking his shirt off after the winning goal.

Will Bruin scored on an easy tap-in and the 10-man Houston Dynamo beat Sporting Kansas City 1-0 for the first home victory in the series' last seven meetings.

Houston won for just the second time in its last seven games. The Dynamo are three points out for the Western Conference's final playoff spot. Sporting KC lost for the fifth time in seven games.

Bruin scored his 11th goal in the 67th minute. After a give-and-go with Brad Davis, DaMarcus Beasley dribbled to the baseline and sent a ball across goal. Tim Melia dove to get a hand on it, but it found Bruin's feet at the far post.

Melia started after missing two games because of an injury.

Oscar Garcia was sent off in the 70th minute after receiving his second yellow card on a rough challenge with Dominic Dwyer.
