David Luiz predicts MLS move, says league can soon be among world's best

Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz says he can one day see himself playing in Major League Soccer, a league he says will be among the world's most important within the next decade.

Luiz joined PSG on a tour of the U.S. and Canada this summer, playing in front of massive crowds against Manchester United and Chelsea.

And with some of the sport's most recognisable names -- Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Kaka and Andrea Pirlo -- joining MLS this season, the centre-back sees great things to come for the league in the years ahead.

"Frankly, I loved playing there," he told the French edition of GQ magazine. "The Americans are incomparable for the sport's business and they're beginning to truly love football.

"In five to 10 years, Major League Soccer will be one of the most important championships in the world. Look at all the players they've recruited. And that will be the future of many of us.

The 28-year-old Brazilian says he might also bring his game to MLS, based on how much he enjoyed his time in North America this summer.

"I think that the path of my career can pass through the United States," he said. "I love the style of life here.

"My priority will be my family in the years to come. And today, when you see that we are there just for some friendlies and that people are excited, the magnificent and filled stadiums, it's crazy.

"So yes, it would be very nice pleasant to play here."
