Houston Dynamo rout LA Galaxy as Toronto FC rallies from three down

Brad Davis had a goal and an assist in the first half, helping the Houston Dynamo beat the LA Galaxy 3-0 on Saturday night.

The Dynamo took control in the ninth minute when Will Bruin settled Davis' diagonal cross and smashed home a left-footer. Davis then added a long-range strike from behind the top of the circle in the 27th minute.

Leonel Miranda capped the scoring in the 88th minute, juking two Galaxy defenders and finishing with a chip shot.

The Galaxy entered the match in second place in the Western Conference, having won four of their last five. But they struggled to match Houston's energy with temperatures in the 90s.

Erick "Cubo" Torres made his MLS debut with the Dynamo as a substitute in the 69th minute. Torres signed with Houston as a Designated Player on Dec. 23, 2014, after an all-star season for defunct Chivas USA.

Jozy Altidore drew a penalty in the box and converted it from the spot in the 89th minute to complete Toronto FC's rally from three down to draw 3-3 against the Columbus Crew.

The Crew's Waylon Francis took Altidore down with a push in the back near the six-yard box. Altidore buried the penalty kick into the left corner of the goal.

Toronto trailed by three early in the second half before Sebastian Giovinco and Collen Warner quickly cut the deficit to one with a pair of goals in the 50th and 55th minutes.

Kei Kamara opened the scoring in the 17th minute for the Crew with his MLS-leading 15th goal. Tony Tchani connected in the 36th, and Ethan Finlay in the 48th.

Laurent Ciman scored off a header in the 88th minute to give the Montreal Impact a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders.

Ciman connected on off Marco Donadel's free kick for his second goal of the season.

Former Impact goalkeeper Troy Perkins made five saves for Seattle, who did not have a shot on target all game.

The Sounders, without midfielder Clint Dempsey, who is playing for the U.S. in the Gold Cup, have lost seven of their past nine games.

Michael Barrios scored two goals to help FC Dallas win its fifth game in row, 4-1 over the Portland Timbers.

Barrios, who came into the match with one career MLS goal, opened the scoring from the right corner of the six-yard box in the 12th minute.

Ten minutes later, Barrios gave FC Dallas a 2-0 lead when he found the net from the top of the area. Kellyn Acosta and Mauro Diaz scored in the 69th and 87th, respectively --the latter on a penalty -- to give Dallas a 4-0 advantage.

Fanendo Adi's penalty, after Lucas Melano drew a foul in stoppage time, gave Portland its first road goal in MLS action since a 2-1 win over Colorado on May 30.

New England's Kelyn Rowe scored the tying goal moments after the Chicago Fire took a late 2-1 lead, and the Revolution escaped Chicago with a 2-2 draw.

Razvan Cocis put away the rebound off a shot by Matt Watson to give the Fire their first lead in the 75th minute but, moments later, Chris Tierney found Rowe streaking though the six-yard box for the tying goal.

The Revolution opened the scoring when Scott Caldwell's shot from just outside the left side of the box ricocheted off of Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson and Lee Nguyen found the back of the net. It was Nguyen's second consecutive game with a goal.

David Accam drew a foul on Jose Goncalves just inside the box and Chicago's Shaun Maloney buried the penalty to even the match in the 44th minute.
