MLS move interests ex-Chelsea striker Didier Drogba

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has confirmed that he is weighing up offers to move to Major League Soccer after bringing down the curtain on his title-laden Chelsea career.

Drogba's trophy haul was enhanced further on Sunday, collecting his fourth Premier League winners' medal at the end of a season that saw him make 28 appearances in Chelsea's successful title push.

The Ivory Coast striker on Monday reiterated his long-held stance that he would never consider playing for another club in England, with the prospect of moving to America clearly appealing to the 37-year-old striker.

When asked whether he was interested in accepting offers on the table from MLS clubs, he responded: "Yeah of course, but I am going to take a few days, few weeks to think about what is good for me next. All I want to do is play."

Drogba started just eight Premier League games for Chelsea this season and he admitted his lack of regular action was a key factor in his decision to leave the club.

"I spoke with Jose [Mourinho] and the board and all of us we found an agreement," Drogba stated.

"Next year I want to have more minutes than I am having now. I just want to play, you know, and finish maybe on a high.

"I gave everything, and I can't give any more. This year I didn't have that feeling. In fact I felt I could still play, and I still want to enjoy it before I stop.

"So, for me to stay here and to finish with frustration, no that is not possible, so we all agree and we all understand what is good for all of us.

"Plus I think the team needs to be stronger next year, to compete in the Champions League, and they are going to buy new players. Also we have young players coming up and these boys need to play. Not that I am not a competitor, but I think it's time to give them a chance."
