Whitecaps' Rodriguez suspended by MLS for violent conduct

Major League Soccer's disciplinary commission has suspended Vancouver Whitecaps defender Diego Rodriguez two games for violent conduct.

Rodriguez appeared to grab Orlando City SC defender Aurelien Collin in the lower midsection in the 62nd minute of Saturday's match.

Rodriguez was also fined for the incident.

Philadelphia Union midfielder Zach Pfeffer was suspended for a second game and fined an undisclosed amount by MLS on Wednesday for a violent conduct that endangered the safety of an opponent.

The incident happened Saturday in a game against FC Dallas. Pfeffer also received an additional fine for failing to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner following a red card.

Also, Vancouver Whitecaps forward Kekuta Manneh has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent against Orlando City.
