The first full round of the 2014 MLS Cup playoffs provided four games that were full of intensity, and even some surprise results. In the Eastern Conference, the New England Revolution established a 4-2 advantage in the first leg with a convincing win over the Columbus Crew, while Thierry Henry led the New York Red Bulls to a 2-0 win over D.C. United with a pair of assists. In the Western Conference, title contenders Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles Galaxy both drew with respective opponents F.C. Dallas and Real Salt Lake, leading to several intriguing second-leg matchups.
