FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Lee Nguyen scored his 11th and 12th goals of the season to give the New England Revolution a 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday night.

New England (11-12-3) took its first lead three minutes after halftime. An unmarked Nguyen settled a cross at the top of the box and bent a shot past goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum.

Nguyen added another goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time after forcing a defensive turnover.

Kansas City (12-9-6), second in the Eastern Conference, lost its third consecutive game. Sporting's goal came in the ninth minute on Soony Saad's header.

New England evened it at one right before halftime. Teal Bunbury won a one-on-one battle and blasted a shot past Gruenebaum.

U.S. international player Jermaine Jones made his first MLS start for New England.
