Alexandre Lacazette insists he would move abroad if he left Lyon

In-demand Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has raised the hopes of watching Premier League clubs by admitting he would prefer a move abroad to staying in France.

A number of clubs, with Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly the most prominent, have been keeping tabs on Lacazette, 23, who scored a league-leading 17 goals in the first half of the Ligue 1 campaign.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has stated his intention of holding on to the French international forward, who signed a two-year contract extension through to 2018 last September.

But, asked whether he would consider a move to Paris Saint-Germain to partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lacazette replied he would rather leave France if he were to pursue his career away from Lyon.

"It's not that I don't see myself in that forward line, but it's difficult to say now. It is more likely that I will go abroad," the OL youth academy product told Yahoo after picking up their fantasy player of the month award for December.

"We'll see, it's difficult to reply immediately. You never know what the future will bring."
