Liverpool's Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane travel for Champions League clash at Roma

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana will not play in the second leg of the Champions League semifinal against Roma on Wednesday despite being included in Liverpool's 23-man travelling squad.

Lallana has been out since suffering a hamstring injury during the game at Crystal Palace in March but could still feature again this season after travelling to South Africa for treatment last month.

Manager Jurgen Klopp had said last week that "one or two games might be possible for him," but added that there was "no chance" he would feature against Roma.

He told the Liverpool website: "Adam Lallana is here in the training squad, but not available for the game. He's in the training squad, and that's very nice. It shows how close he is. Unfortunately, the season is not too long any more but we're really happy about having him with us."

Defender Joe Gomez will not face Roma either, after injuring an ankle in the goalless draw with Stoke City on Saturday.

Klopp said Gomez had been left at home because he had suffered "only a little setback," but was unsure how long the defender would be out for.

Sadio Mane, who missed the Stoke game, was included in the squad. Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, both of whom had minor fitness concerns after Saturday, also travelled.

Roma will be without Diego Perotti and Kevin Strootman, who both picked up injuries in the first leg and were not included in the squad for the return fixture.

Liverpool hold a 5-2 aggregate lead and are looking to reach the Champions League final for the first time since 2007.
