Daniel Sturridge's future at Liverpool yet to be decided - Jurgen Klopp

Daniel Sturridge's future at Liverpool will be decided at the end of the season and not before, manager Jurgen Klopp says.

The England forward's playing time has been limited in recent months as he's started just five Premier League games in the current campaign while Klopp prefers Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Sturridge, who appears likely to be available to face Arsenal on Saturday after being sidelined by a virus for Liverpool's deflating 3-1 loss at Leicester City on Monday, has two more seasons left on his Liverpool contract.

But asked if it appears likely the 27-year-old would leave Anfield this summer, Klopp told multiple English newspapers: "I have no idea what happens in the summer.

"It is not only Daniel but a lot of players. Daniel was not in training for eight or nine days because of a virus infection.

"We have to bring him back to the best shape possible and then bring this season to an end as successfully as possible. Then we will make decisions and speak about Daniel and any other players about what will happen at the end of the season.

"A lot of things will influence this and we can speak about it when it is time."

Liverpool will have a number of decisions to make after the season, as Lucas Leiva is out of contract, while Emre Can will be entering the final year of his current deal.
